16.04 - Ubuntu Crashes after Screenshot - Ask Ubuntu


my ubuntu 16.04 has been hanging regularly after taking screenshots using native screenshot app. following scenarios have been observed:-
a) screen freezes black rectangle on area have taken screenshot , screenshot application closes. on repeatedly opening screenshot application, prompt save after 10-11 tries.
b) system freezes , nothing works ==> have hard restart power button.
please help.
