encryption - Make an external drive Ubuntu + Windows accessible - Ask Ubuntu


this question has answer here:

just wondering if there way make external hard drive ubuntu/linux accessible. if plugs windows or mac, wouldn't show files or drive or show locked out.

if not, there utility (free/paid) allows hard drive contents encrypted/locked , works @ least linux , windows?
