16.04 - Reinstall ubuntu from factory enabling whole disk encription - Ask Ubuntu


this question has answer here:

i excited got new personal laptop, , first time in life didn't bring windows preinstalled (it's new dell xps 13, ubuntu 16.04 preconfigured).

as turned on, set basic settings (language, locales, etc.) , able encrypt home folder, remember past installations (and that's how have in old computer) there chance of encrypting whole disk (i think in partitioning step).

i've been reading here @ , in internet , think not possible "reinstalling whole ubuntu" factory without having boot usb, here question:

is there way encrypt whole disk once ubuntu has been installed? there workaround? or have image, boot usb , perform usual.

the short answer question no, can't encrypt entire disk after ubuntu has been installed.

there ways want.... example encrypting using trucrypt, easiest , cleanest way go clean install.

you @ following thread after reading may agree doing clean re-install best way accomplish want. enable disk encryption after installation

windows - "-2146893807 NTE_NOT_FOUND" when repair certificate store - Super User

i try repair certificate store in windows 10 doing c:\windows\system32>certutil -store -user ‎330000019dba8d5dddb98062a900000000019d "personal" certutil: -store command failed: 0x80090011 (-2146893807 nte_not_found) certutil: object not found. i have double check mmc, certificate details serial number of certificate. still fail repair certificate store. can please help? i getting same error when trying export pfx. turns out had export c:\cert.pfx instead of cert.pfx (it trying export file cert store ( cert:\localmachine\my ).
