wine - Restoring fonts after PlayOnLinux install - Ask Ubuntu


i installed playonlinux , decided didn't need after installing it. ran apt purge playonlinux after removing 1 game had installed. rebooted , fontawesome fonts have gone weird.

i have tried:

  • purging ttf-mscorefonts-installed
  • removing .playonlinux directory contained font files exe.
  • refreshing font cache
  • rebooting after each process

any tips on restoring fonts? in advance.

i'm running ubuntu 16.04 i3. fontawesome fonts installed in ~/.fonts/ directory

installed ubuntu mate 16.04 lts on decade-old desktop. lspci -k shows: 01:00.0 vga compatible controller: nvidia corporation nv18 [geforce4 mx 4000] (rev c1) subsystem: xfx pine group inc. nv18 [geforce4 mx 4000] kernel driver in use: nouveau kernel modules: nvidiafb, nouveau i wonder nvidia-* driver package need install. thought should nvidia-96 , far checked, there no nvidia-96 package available.
