boot - Ubuntu stopped seeing SSD - Ask Ubuntu
i have problem , hope ubuntu community can me out here. in short: ubuntu lost partition of ssd.
how happened: looking through external hard drive searching ebook. once found pdf (around 100mb), highlighted , pressed ctrl+c , system froze. couldnt kill process, nothing unfreeze it, first time in life googled how restart os hard way. found sysrq button method, mistyped bit: reiusb. maybe messed system, since later saw comments each letter , remounted systems , synced mounted systems.
anyways, point on, ssd disappeared everywhere, bios. drive had , ubuntu os installed on it. have loaded live cd usb, tried looking partitions.
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo parted -l model: ufd 2.0 silicon-power8g (scsi) disk /dev/sda: 8054mb sector size (logical/physical): 512b/512b partition table: msdos disk flags: number start end size type file system flags 1 1049kb 8054mb 8053mb primary fat32 boot, lba
gparted shows same picture. usb livecd available. , apparently doesn't allow me reinstall ubuntu, because there no partition available (besides usb).
any ideas can done? if ssd dead, why did happen? guarantees not happen again brand new ssd? ssd: 128gb kingston v300.
