boot - Unable to access BIOS anymore (fastboot issue perhaps) - Ask Ubuntu
a few weeks ago, installed lubuntu 16.04 on machine alongside windows 10. now, win 10 boots through uefi , lubuntu boots through csm. (don't ask why, having issues)
that setup alright, have take step of changing boot mode whenever wanted switch os. fine till , update broke windows. didn't have time worry fixing it, time being said i'll go linux while
however, cannot access bios. on machine (a toshiba satellite c855d), pressing f2 before boot allowed me enter bios. no longer works. no matter how fast or when press f2 key, boots directly ubuntu. read somewhere holding escape before boot allow me enter bios, if hold (or function keys) more second, system beeps indefinitely no other feedback.
now think may have accidentally (re?)enabled fastboot, , why cannot go anywhere before linux boots, after googling, have no idea go. without being able access bios or boot menu, how can windows?
edit
in case interested in why want go windows
- i want play games (although can work around if necessary.
- visual studio (which i'm not sure can hack wine.
you can try resetting bios/clear cmos. way, reset bios settings, turning fastboot off (if did have on).
