networking - TL-WN727N V4 very slow - Ask Ubuntu

i tried installing driver official website comes same 1 installed. lshw shows firmware missing. suggestions?

so im installing mt7601-sta-dkms suggested @thatguy

at point cannot modprobe mt7601usta because not there. neither mt7601u. gone. check /etc/modprobe.d/ directory , blacklisted blacklist-mt7601u.conf. (only one). when reboot system wireless not working (no driver). delete file , goes using mt7601u not mt7601usta.

at point if try modprobe mt7601usta gives me error modprobe: error: not insert invalid argument

there ubuntu 16.04.1 package in this ppa matches hardware id (148f:7601):

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:thopiekar/mt7601 sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install mt7601-sta-dkms 

this should contain dkms.
