drivers - How does Ubuntu handle laptops with Microsoft Precision Touchpads? - Ask Ubuntu


if buy laptop microsoft precision touchpad, how ubuntu handle it? work synaptic drivers because hardware made synaptics? or os handle , interpret event stream, windows 10 does? ubuntu set this?

people (including dell!) have installed ubuntu on dell xps machines feature ptp hardware, know works. want know if works in linux in windows, , if doesn't, configuration options are.

the answer doesn't make difference; it's better, higher-resolution touchpad. synaptics driver or libinput both drive without complaint, albeit higher resolution , perhaps more fingers @ time recognized.
