networking - Juniper Network Connect on Ubuntu 16.10? - Ask Ubuntu
since in-place upgrade 16.04 16.10, juniper network connect vpn client has been failing silently. i'm running in 32-bit firefox using 32-bit oracle java, , worked quite under 16.04. did in-place upgrade 16.10. not believe mad-scientist scripts me here, though i'm willing try make work well.
the applet runs normally, connects, builds tunnel, , receive dhcp assigned address tun0. appropriate routes added tun0 interface.
no traffic routes tun0 however, instance if ping host on other end of tunnel traffic counters never increase.
i've installed 16.10 fresh dvd onto spare hard drive, went through song , dance of getting 32-bit oracle java , ff installed , working, , have exact same issue on new build. network connect runs, connects, stays connected, no traffic ever hits tun0.
there no errors logged either in ncsvc/ncui logs, or in syslog. feel must missing obvious, can't life of me see might be.
i've seen people in other threads seemingly mention works them under 16.10 (juniper network connect not working on ubuntu 16.04), believe must possible.
i'm happy provide logs, nothing shows errors. ncsvc log shows routes being added, , thing in main syslog dns servers changing provided vpn, fail connect, , trying fall udp.
i had same problem, , seems kernel bug (again). before launching vpn client, type command root:
echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/default/router_solicitations
the source information this bug report.
