programming - How to add $USER to www-data group for me to edit the files freely on my project? - Ask Ubuntu


this question has answer here:

i installed fresh ubuntu 16.10 , finished setting lamp stack. sublime text keeps asking me authentication every time edit file.

lamp stack installed using root user.

my /var/www/projects have www-data:www-data work properly.

but can't edit files freely keeps asking password every time hit save.

should install sublime text super user?
