wireless - Ubuntu 16.04 - Wifi hard blocked in Acer ES1-521 laptop - Ask Ubuntu


i newbie ubuntu , installed ubuntu 16.04 in acer es1-521 laptop. wifi worked right after installation, see wireless adapter hard blocked.

machine has qualcomm atheros 9565 card. there no switch turn off/on wifi. fn + f3.

seems hard block started after switched off , on bluetooth. not sure caused or coincidence.

i had tried following remove hard unblock.

rfkill unblock modprobe ath9k bios reset (f9) - wifi card works fine in windows 10 before , after bios reset

none of above unblock wifi.

any other suggestions please?

i had same issue acer es1-521 laptop. following link here, did following , worked fine.

blacklist acer-wmi

to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf. quick reboot , wireless network detected , working fine on.
