drivers - Ubuntu 16.04.1. LTS with dual monitor and integrated intel graphics - Ask Ubuntu
i relatively inexperienced ubuntu user: time ago updated ubuntu 14.04 lts , after restarting system, both monitors (connected dvi , hdmi ports) reported signal lost. able monitors working again booting old kernel.
however, support kernel ended in august 2016 , should find solution works latest kernels. hence, decided upgrade ubuntu 16.04.1 lts lead situation monitors lost signal when installed/boot computer. managed signal screens setting thenomodeset
option in grub menu.
unfortunately, both monitors show same view not have.
does have idea how continuous dual display working again latest kernels? here output of lshw -c video

(the ubuntu release 16.04.1 lts). have tried reinstall graphics drivers using
sudo apt-get install --reinstall xserver-xorg-video-intel xserver xorg-core sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
but doesn't seem me although removed nomodeset
option temporarily in order test system.
do have ideas or suggestions?
