the messgae, "reason: 15=4way_handshake_timeout" suggests there problem password. assume have double- , triple-checked password have entered correct in both ubuntu , windows. please check in router's administration pages verify again.

next, there 2 methods achieve encryption, hardware , software. try disabling hardware encryption , see if helps. please open terminal , do:

sudo modprobe -r ath9k sudo modprobe ath9k nohwcrypt=1 

now can connect? if so, we'll make change permanent:

sudo -i echo "options ath9k nohwcrypt=1"  >  /etc/modprobe.d/ath9k.conf exit 

if still unable connect, check again encryption key in router. use numbers , letters , not use symbols or spaces. reboot router.
