and in case matters:
duncan@bedroom:~$ uname -a linux bedroom 3.13.0-100-generic #147-ubuntu smp tue oct 18 16:49:53 utc 2016 i686 athlon i686 gnu/linux
turns out disk kinda full. close exhausting inodes.
root@bedroom:~# df -i filesystem inodes iused ifree iuse% mounted on udev 207347 498 206849 1% /dev tmpfs 214299 525 213774 1% /run /dev/sda1 909312 906196 3116 100% / none 214299 2 214297 1% /sys/fs/cgroup none 214299 3 214296 1% /run/lock none 214299 133 214166 1% /run/shm none 214299 10 214289 1% /run/user
have figure out using many now.
edit: ironically old linux header files taking lot of inodes. deleted oldest 2 versions manually /usr/src freed enough script in turn freed more.
after running apt-get purge $oldconf kyodake's script:
filesystem inodes iused ifree iuse% mounted on /dev/sda1 909312 889004 20308 98% /
after running apt-get purge $oldkernels
filesystem inodes iused ifree iuse% mounted on /dev/sda1 909312 644406 264906 71% /
and have 4gb free
thanks kyodake!
