boot - How to bypass smartmontools scan at startup? - Ask Ubuntu


i have smartmontools installed daemon on lubuntu 16.10 machine. configured regular scans, unable boot machine because lubuntu boots message saying "/dev/sdb1 "clean..." etc , persists literally hours.

how can interrupt , cancel smartmontools scan @ startup?
