drivers - Radeon r9 390 - Ubuntu 16.04 - Ask Ubuntu
issue: i'm dual booting windows 10 ubuntu 16.04. but, when boot ubuntu after few minutes, screen switches black, rig continues run, , can't access or see anything.
when remove powercolor pcs+ radeon r9 390 directx gpu , hook directly asrock z97 extreme6 mobo, works perfectly, sans decent graphics. albeit works.
if i'm hooked 390(via hdmi or displayport), i'll still black screen. when try reboot first time, gpu fans spin @ max speed & can't boot. which, i'll 'reboot' again , work okay.
i've tried installing amdpro-gpu-drivers linux. i've disabled secure boot & fast boot.
when try access 'additional drivers' tab in updates & software, gpu isn't displayed, rather ubuntu says has detected drivers, won't list proprietary drivers(i.e., 390).
i'd appreciate @ all! it'd great able use 390, otherwise, considering selling & snagging nvida geforce gtx 1070 8gb video card(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iywzmvlj2rq)
