14.04 - All fonts on Xubuntu are now boxes. Everything is illegible. Help - Ask Ubuntu


as in title, of xubuntu not characters, vertical rectangular boxes, cant find right font.

i on xubuntu 14.04

all normal. until tried add new fonts gimp.. added fonts /usr/share/fonts/trutype , didnt see them in gimp, started copy new file folders downloaded google fonts other folders. 1 /home/username/.fonts , still no updates in gimp , rebooted see if made font appear , entire gui interface has no characters , empty rectangular boxes. , mean everything. file manager, applications gimp illegible. can open , close due memory of button , menu locations.

i able run browser , fine menu , text legible, seems xfce gui messed up. rather advice experts play further. i'm not sure how copying files folder this.

i did install font viewer app yesterday didn't , not install fonts expected. can not search uninstall.

has seen before or know how solve or start?

update: able remove app added, font-manager using command line , apt-get --purge font-manager. rebooted , same boxes everywhere. removed .font.conf file present , linking /home/norman/.config/fontconfig/fonts.conf. still boxes present after reboot.

assuming have reset /usr/share/fonts original state, may want try these steps:

  1. remove ~/.cache/fontconfig folder.
  2. run command sudo fc-cache -fr (it take while complete)
  3. reboot.

windows - "-2146893807 NTE_NOT_FOUND" when repair certificate store - Super User

i try repair certificate store in windows 10 doing c:\windows\system32>certutil -store -user ‎330000019dba8d5dddb98062a900000000019d "personal" certutil: -store command failed: 0x80090011 (-2146893807 nte_not_found) certutil: object not found. i have double check mmc, certificate details serial number of certificate. still fail repair certificate store. can please help? i getting same error when trying export pfx. turns out had export c:\cert.pfx instead of cert.pfx (it trying export file cert store ( cert:\localmachine\my ).
