How to play DVDs in Ubuntu 16.04? - Ask Ubuntu


ubuntu unable play dvds. used regionset change region. libdvdcss (the newest version) installed. enabled option "no dvd menus" in vlc, , doesn't work.

what should do?

on ubuntu 16.04 type in terminal sudo apt-get install libdvd-pkg

after installing libdvd-pkg must run command - sudo dpkg-reconfigure libdvd-pkg

this should allow dvd playback

if you're still having trouble, region of device not set (or @ all). install regionset typing sudo apt-get install regionset , run regionset.
