unity - No wallpaper in 16.04 - Ask Ubuntu
ever since installed ubuntu 16.04 (fresh, kept home directory), i've had broken wallpaper cannot change (i.e. changing wallpaper doesn't anything). tried resetting unity (unit-tweak-tool --reset-unity) , resetting compiz (dconf reset -f /org/compiz/). have no wallpaper (black). still, changing wallpaper doesn't have effect.
i tried creating new user. new user works fine , can change wallpaper too. in fact, why figured having kept home directory might problem , reset unity , compiz.
1) try command
gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.background active true
2) run nautilus
nautilus -n
