dual boot - What do these GParted instructions mean? - Ask Ubuntu


i shrank windows partition using gparted make room shared data partition both ubuntu , windows. warned me:

what instructions 1 , 3 mean? didn't know had choice of sector of hard drive make new partition. , "new ntfs filesystem size"? isn't size of partition i'm making?

installed ubuntu mate 16.04 lts on decade-old desktop. lspci -k shows: 01:00.0 vga compatible controller: nvidia corporation nv18 [geforce4 mx 4000] (rev c1) subsystem: xfx pine group inc. nv18 [geforce4 mx 4000] kernel driver in use: nouveau kernel modules: nvidiafb, nouveau i wonder nvidia-* driver package need install. thought should nvidia-96 , far checked, there no nvidia-96 package available.
