apt - libavcodec-dev package missing - Ask Ubuntu


i trying compile makemkv persistent ubuntu 16.04 live usb. 1 of dependencies libavcodec-dev, whenever try install told package not found. search on google , find pages this suggest should there. what's going on? because live usb? package repo limited? have run sudo apt-get update sure , still doesn't work.

that package available supported versions of ubuntu in universe repository when in doubt use ubuntu package search not verify packages existence determine repository in. here's example:

drivers - No wi-fi network after install - Ask Ubuntu

i installed ubuntu 16:10 on xiaomi air 13 "uncommon device know" i'm not able see wifi connection. problem occurred right after install, since before "during try ubuntu , installation" able see , connect w/out problem. if go settings -> network i'm not able turn on wifi "it switch off turn on". nothing in software , update -> more driver. what should ? :c edit:i able fix metod here wi-fi drivers laptop xiaomi air 13 but can't find programm/app on ubuntu software c. "like geany". problem somehow related fix found ?
