laptop - Brightness Keys(Fn+F5, Fn+F6) Not Working on ASUS K501UX in Ubuntu 16.10 - Ask Ubuntu


when press function keys + f5, f6 brightness control nothing happens. works fine in windows. ended making shortcut brightness & lock settings on unity bar, far ideal. how can fix this?

the fix mentioned pilot6 above this:

gksudo gedit /etc/default/grub change command line

grub_cmdline_linux_default="quiet splash acpi_osi="

and run sudo update-grub

drivers - No wi-fi network after install - Ask Ubuntu

i installed ubuntu 16:10 on xiaomi air 13 "uncommon device know" i'm not able see wifi connection. problem occurred right after install, since before "during try ubuntu , installation" able see , connect w/out problem. if go settings -> network i'm not able turn on wifi "it switch off turn on". nothing in software , update -> more driver. what should ? :c edit:i able fix metod here wi-fi drivers laptop xiaomi air 13 but can't find programm/app on ubuntu software c. "like geany". problem somehow related fix found ?
