linux - What do I do when I get "connection refused" when sending mail? - Super User
i using fedora. send emails using sendemail. got error:
error => connection attempt localhost:25 failed: io::socket::inet: connect: connection refused
your program trying relay email via smtp server on same machine smtp server. when program attempts open connection, connection fails.
most likely, don't have smtp server running on machine. can try install email server or can see if program allows specify 'relay host'. in later case, need give ip or hostname of machine has smtp server , willing exchange email you.
there less possibility there smtp server on machine not configured use loopback address. previous suggestion, need find out how specify relay host instead of using loopback (i.e. localhost or 127.0.0.1), you'll need specify actual ip of machine.
