software installation - Driver error when trying to install Steam on 16.10 - Ask Ubuntu

i downloaded steam .deb file official website, after installing with:
sudo dpkg -i steam_latest.deb i have found upon trying launch with:

however gives me error above, have tried purging , reinstalling many times doesn't try download steam in usual way little steam window, gives me error.
i running ubuntu gnome 16.10 gnome 3.22, do fix problem , able install , launch steam successfully?
also, prefer install official source rather universe repository don't know how maintained.
