themes - How to change system icon to different color - Ask Ubuntu
i browsing ubuntu icon theme on internet, found papirus icon theme. screenshot, can tell icon promising enough. decided install it.
indeed, icon offered colorful, nice modern looking , elegant design. think i've found icon theme :)
still, there things bother me much. system icon has same color menu background color, , therefore invisible.
user icon : if hover mouse "guest session", icon appear.
volume icon : same goes volume icon
battery icon : invisible battery icon
my question is: how change these icon's color different color (black in case) ?
update firefox screenshot:
update
this problem reported papirus icon site. here bug report https://github.com/papirusdevelopmentteam/papirus-icon-theme-gtk/issues/18
but developers closed bug report saying coloring symbolic icons not possible in ubuntu. quoting here
icons on menu indicator it's ubuntu specific bug only, because unity not colorize symbolic icons. can't change volume icon because solution broken compatibility other de's , gtk themes.
about firefox icon changes
when change theme, icons changed. icons in firefox toolbar provided arc theme, not papirus icon theme.
papirus comes 2 variant.
- papirus-gtk, light themes arc (which you're using)
- papirus-dark-gtk, used dark themes arc-dark
so, switch theme papirus-gtk theme. problem solved.
here image of same menu arc theme papirus-gtk icon.
