Ubuntu 16.04 only hard shutdown instead of shutdown/suspend/hibernate - Ask Ubuntu

i got new pc (acer extensa 2520) linux pre-installed. got brick text-environment formatted , installed ubuntu 16.04.

everything works fine every time close lid, shutdown, sleep or suspend hear "tick" of hard shutdown , pc goes off. when turn on, it's evident has done shut down if had long-pressed shutdown button instead of suspending it.

edit: indeed i'd computer suspend or hibernate or whatever when close lid. not shutdown or remaining on fine. , yes, happens both when close lid , when press suspend or else menu.
