ddd does not see ubuntu font, although gdb does see it - Ask Ubuntu

i using gdb apl interpreter development, use ddd, instead. ddd appears require fonts come x, rather normal set of fonts visible in ubuntu. have apl385.ttf font installed in /usr/share/fonts/truetype/dyalog/apl385.ttf, ddd not show in preferences/fonts page.

hence, apl symbols such iota(⍳) not display under ddd. so...

  1. is there way truetype font installed under x on ubuntu 16.04lts, can select ddd?

  2. is there better graphical debugger ddd available not have problem? [ not particularly ddd, gdb less.]

if both of these answers no, i'll go using gdb.

thanks, robert
