networking - How to track the total network data in a month - Ask Ubuntu

i can see data transferred (internet download/upload) in current session system monitor. want keeps track of data transferred , can see how data used in month or two. preferably gui tool.

if nice gui try ntm - network traffic monitor. it's not in repos can download deb package website: http://netramon.sourceforge.net/eng/index.html

should work *buntu variants.

features:

  • choice of interface monitoring.
  • period monitoring: day, week, month, year or custom days. autoupdate.
  • threshold: autodisconnection if limit reached (by networkmanager).
  • traffic monitoring: inbound, outbount , total traffic; show traffic speed.
  • time monitoring: total time of connections in period.
  • time slot monitoring: number of sessions used.
  • reports: show of average values , daily traffic of configurable period.
  • online checking networkmanager or "ping mode".
