Any way to programmatically set boot device to usb? - Ask Ubuntu


i want backup boot drive image on remote samba fileserver.

i planning set minimal ubuntu install on usb flashdrive take image of usual boot drive, reboot usual os.

i able leave bootable usb plugged machine time machine physically bit difficult to.

basically want connected usual os, , able issue command shut down, boot off usb, image drive onto server, reboot.

is there way this? have ideas how can achieve this?

i want make easy possible script backups of boot drive without having physically reinsert usb drive every time.

unity - Double Triple-Click brings up Switcher -- how do I change this to revert Triple-Click to be middle click again? - Ask Ubuntu

behavior in 16.04: triple-click middle click (this assumption, can't middle clicking, behavior consistent middle clicking) , opens link in new background tab in firefox. switcher was/is tiny , looks shit, works fine. behavior after upgrade 16.10: double triple-click (but interestingly not single triple-click, nor double double-click, nor double single-click) brings nice looking switcher love use alt+tab. looks great. it's not tiny , doesn't shit. wonderful if alt-tabbing used switcher, because it's large enough visible, background color in keeping ubuntu's theme , matches dock. i triple-click go being middle click. can't find anywhere set this, , it's sad because can't open links in new background tab in firefox without old functionality. 11/7: within past couple days, i've noticed pages huge or small text. ctrl + 0 puts zoom original. however, today realized double-clicking (left click) cycling font size between bigger, smaller, , original...
