How to fix an external monitor showing only half of the screen? - Ask Ubuntu


my laptop's screen broken. i've been using external monitor month without problems (windows 10 , elementary os) today decided switch ubuntu 14.04.5 32bit when boot using usb key monitor display half of screen can see in picture , mouse cursor can slip left side.

any ideas fix problem?

go system settings/displays , check mirror displays option, click apply button. may need change resolution desktop size desire.
