apt - I can't install or remove anything on Ubuntu 16.04, and virtually nothing on login page - Ask Ubuntu
first off, sorry bad english(i'm foreigner...) , i'm relatively new using ubuntu, might asking easy question.
on friday, tried update ubuntu 16.04 usual , stuck in middle because internet dropped, [though can't remember stuck @ because busy else.]so closed force.
at first there seemed nothing wrong, when went through tty1 see if wrong, there no login usual, strings of endless error messages went fast see going on. decided backup notebook safe, time, stuck when recovering /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libbz2.so.1.0.4
turned off, , moment, whenever turn on lab top, instead of usual login page, there black page, frozen quotes...
dev/sda11: clean, 380596/6144000 files, 6277962/24551936 blocks
that's problem no.1 , major problem when go through tty1 , try fix problem installing or removing, doesn't work @ all. instead, whenever write command has "apt" same messages appear.
apt: error while loading shared libraries: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libbz2.so.1.0: file short
and when wrote sudo ldconfig see if there's hint, return.
/sbin/ldconfig.real: file /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libbz2.so.1.0 empty, not checked. /sbin/ldconfig.real: file /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libbz2.so.1 empty, not checked. /sbin/ldconfig.real: file /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libbz2.so.1.0.4 empty, not checked. /sbin/ldconfig.real: file /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libbz2.so empty, not checked.
in short, there no login page , apt-get
not working @ all. didn't made single progress since friday, i've tried , nothing happened.
