macos - What is the 'Stationery Pad' setting in OS X Finder? - Super User


in os x finder, when info on file notice checkbox 'stationery pad' right above 'locked' (see attached).

what do?

osx finder info dialog

as explained here, turns file template. tick , open file, , copy of file created, ready saved elsewhere without affecting original.
