Permission denied when running Emacs from Cygwin console - Super User


when run emacs cygwin console following error message:

bash: /usr/bin/emacs/ :permission denied

i have not changed settings. tried change autosave settings in emacs system file didn't work deleted , saved file.

it after that started getting error.

any idea why is?

you want go ahead , run chmod +x /usr/bin/emacs allow owner, members of same group, , else able execute application.

the permission may set rw-r-r or that.

Windows XP installation, no previous version of Windows NT - Super User
