wine - AoE II HD black screen problem - Ask Ubuntu


i installed age of empire ii hd wine (version 1.6.2) on ubuntu 16.04. don't have steam. works except map, stays black!

i know can solve problem using -nostartup command not know how works or put it.

  1. open terminal

  2. move directory game installed. (if using wine, should ~/.wine/drive_c/program files (x86)/age of empires ii hd/)

    cd ~/.wine/drive_c/program files (x86)/age of empires ii hd/

  3. execute:

    wine "aok hd.exe" -nostartup

    where aok hd.exe name of game binary file. have name, depends on version of game.

  4. enjoy!
