cleanup - Trying to keep my Linux fresh - Ask Ubuntu

is effective? there danger?

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade 

and then

sudo apt-get clean && sudo apt-get autoclean && sudo apt-get autoremove 

by way run linux in vmware

should run ubuntu tweak?

actually, don't need clean after linux, deletes temp files on shutdown. command cleans current session. if running server, or piece of critical hardware not shut down, wouldn't hurt clean every , then. remember, isn't microsoft. :)

as ubuntu tweak, i've never used it, although quick search reveals no longer being maintained. personally, if piece of software no longer being updated , supported, rid of it.
