nvidia - Ubuntu - Weird brightness flickering - Ask Ubuntu


today uninstalled xubuntu , did fresh install of ubuntu 16.10

as done, entered login menu. noticed screen sort of flickering. thought fix after installed newest nvidia drivers. additional drivers installed 367.57 , rebooted. after didn't fix it, installed 370.28. did not fix it.

i believe it's brightness. i've seen lot of people issue of "screen flickering", can tell different issue. reference, here's video of screen both on installation , using live usb.

speaking of youtube, notice flickering not present when have full screen video up, affect video while it's not in fullscreen

i'm @ loss. have no idea how fix this, , google doesn't seem have solution. maybe i'm searching wrong thing?

i want use ubuntu, don't see how viable. if can't fix asap i'll have xubuntu or try distro.

this issue not present on 16.04 live cd.

upgraded kernel 4.8.0 4.8.4 , no change

downgraded kernel 4.7.0 , no change

i went way down kernel version 4.4.27 worked! no longer have flickering.

anyone got clue why works not on later kernel versions?

i've found solution worked me.

run command: sudo vim /etc/default/grub

here, edit following from: grub_cmdline_linux_default="quiet splash" grub_cmdline_linux_default="quiet splash i915.enable_psr=0"

then run: sudo update-grub , reboot.

the issue apparently panel self refresh (psr)

windows - "-2146893807 NTE_NOT_FOUND" when repair certificate store - Super User

i try repair certificate store in windows 10 doing c:\windows\system32>certutil -store -user ‎330000019dba8d5dddb98062a900000000019d "personal" certutil: -store command failed: 0x80090011 (-2146893807 nte_not_found) certutil: object not found. i have double check mmc, certificate details serial number of certificate. still fail repair certificate store. can please help? i getting same error when trying export pfx. turns out had export c:\cert.pfx instead of cert.pfx (it trying export file cert store ( cert:\localmachine\my ).
