package management - Ubuntu Broken Dependencies - Ask Ubuntu
i had no network on pc , installed many (hundreds) .deb packages command
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
the installed applications working (wine, vlc etc) when opening synaptic, have 207 broken packages... afaik packages broken if have unresolved dependencies. if rightclick 1 of broken packages none of dependencies italic...
so, if works why many packages "broken"?
edit seems not installed application working. of them need libraries aren't installed.
also, think packages messed system: important settings have been resetten (display resolution, keyboard , mousepad) .
i guess uninstalling packages simpliest way resolve problems. correct me if i'm wrong
that's purely “by accident”. missing dependencies start cause problems once try to
use functionality or
install, upgrade, or remove packages via apt , front-ends (like synaptic).
