2. nor choosing server or desktop version...
3. nor which desktop environment should install?
4. nor which ubuntu best hardware?
5. nor what difference between lts , normal releases?
6. nor what meaning of version numbers?.

so in answer below simple guide ubuntu version you, independent of future releases!

to choose right version of ubuntu, head official ubuntu current releases site.

if want current stable version of ubuntu , don't problems start reading top of list , stop when see first lts (long term support) version , download , install that.

if you're bit of ubuntu hobbyist or like upgrading often (at least once/year, more if can) start reading top of list , stop when see first version , download that.

if you're pioneer , want advancing human race start reading top of list , stop when see first version says future (warning: might want install version in dual-boot stable version)
