boot - 16.04 'Alongside' Windows 7 install option - Ask Ubuntu


in previous installs, saw line item option install 16.04 alongside windows:

a failed attempt boot , install ubuntu (screen freeze) followed ubuntu usb attempt: 'alongside' install option not present: enter image description here

exploration of 'something else' menus result in wiping existing windows install (would avoid , have dual-boot system).

question

  1. is possible , steps restore 'install alongside windows' option?
  2. is problem unique windows 7? or 16.04?

procedures, reference, suggestions , lessons-learned appreciated.

try defrag windows first , install ubuntu

drivers - No wi-fi network after install - Ask Ubuntu

i installed ubuntu 16:10 on xiaomi air 13 "uncommon device know" i'm not able see wifi connection. problem occurred right after install, since before "during try ubuntu , installation" able see , connect w/out problem. if go settings -> network i'm not able turn on wifi "it switch off turn on". nothing in software , update -> more driver. what should ? :c edit:i able fix metod here wi-fi drivers laptop xiaomi air 13 but can't find programm/app on ubuntu software c. "like geany". problem somehow related fix found ?
