Latest Kubuntu update for MySQL seems to have broken Akonadi - Ask Ubuntu


i'm running kubuntu 14.04 , installed update mysql through muon update manager. believe there 4 files involved taking version 5.5.53. issue have korganizer calender not load saying akonadi personal information management service not operational.

the main error is:

akonadi control process not registered @ d-bus. details: akonadi control process not registered @ d-bus typically means not started or encountered fatal error during startup.

i've got same error using system backup , reverting mysql 5.5.52 worked ok again.

for me

sudo mkdir /var/lib/mysql-files

solved problem after update 5.5.53. albeit no files written new directory.

Windows XP installation, no previous version of Windows NT - Super User
