networking - Problem with WICD (as a network manager) and Steam - Ask Ubuntu


so, use wicd network manager, makes of games nicer play on. sadly, reason, when moved kubuntu, steam seems fail when use wicd, doesn't when use standard networkmanager. since don't have idea cause it, wanted see if knew going on.

my system uses following kernel:

uname: linux hyperbeam 4.8.0-27-generic #29-ubuntu smp thu oct 20 21:03:13 utc 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 gnu/linux

in case "fatal error: steam needs online update. please confirm network connection , try again" installing libnss-resolve:i386 seems fix issue. https://github.com/valvesoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/4661
