keyboard - Bind a key to the 'contextmenu' key - Ask Ubuntu
on full sized pc keyboards there context menu key. see photo below.
my new laptop doesn't have 1 of these keys, use time. context menu shows context menu of selected item, not item underneath mouse pointer.
my question is, how can re-map key combination (preferably ctrl + prtsc) perform same operation?
on system, have context menu key.
in terminal, when run xev
, should present default on system well, see output (in part):
keypress event, serial 48, synthetic no, window 0x2000001, root 0x96, subw 0x0, time 12548175, (334,-138), root:(588,185), state 0x0, keycode 135 (keysym 0xff67, menu), same_screen yes, xlookupstring gives 0 bytes: xmblookupstring gives 0 bytes: xfilterevent returns: false keyrelease event, serial 48, synthetic no, window 0x2000001, root 0x96, subw 0x0, time 12548242, (334,-138), root:(588,185), state 0x0, keycode 135 (keysym 0xff67, menu), same_screen yes, xlookupstring gives 0 bytes: xfilterevent returns: false
if want know more xev
, maybe informative: weekend project: configure keyboard submission
i suggest try bind convenient spare keyboard shortcut "menu" using whichever method distro provides , see if works cases know or expect right-click effect isn't same pressing on menu key.
