12.04 - External USB DVD Drive support - Ask Ubuntu


i planning purchase external usb dvd writer desktop has ubuntu 14.04 version. please let me know if external usb dvd writers ready use after plugged usb port ? if not external usb dvd writers available supported ubuntu 14.04 release .

you should have no problem using it. first time insert dvd ubuntu should autodetect , prompt you; if not, go system settings > details > removable media , find drive.
