as new ubuntu user, have installed few apps through terminal.
i have tried follow several, albeit outdated, threads explain how install openoffice, cannot work. helpful if provide me necessary commands work.
- we use libreoffice. openoffice license suited. openoffice has license restrictive ubuntu of use (see below).
- besides that: ubuntu not using latest version stable version @ release of os. security wise better stick versions ubuntu supplies. security related fixes provided when found , fixed.

but why go through trouble? since there licensing issue opt libreoffice.
