boot - Stupid usb linux question - Ask Ubuntu

ok, know stupid question, don't know , can't find answer. have windows machine. want run copy of ubuntu linux off usb drive persistence.

  1. i have used pendrivelinux usb installer put usb distribution onto usb drive.
  2. at bootup asks whether want "try linux" or "install linux"

my question if choose install linux, installed usb drive using (desired), or overwrite windows on hard drive (undesired)?

if choose install ubuntu, install ubuntu in hard drive. if choose try ubuntu, not overwrite windows installation. try use unetbootin purposes, give option create persistence file save modifications in live media, specify size in mb says "space used preserve files across reboots (ubuntu only)".
