command line - How can I fix a workspace switcher freeze? - Ask Ubuntu


a few minutes ago when using workspace switcher, froze tried slide window 1 screen gui interface. result, whole screen frozen , couldn't out of 4-screen layout shown when switching workspaces.

i open terminal, didn't know out of this. should if comes again?

(there rather high load on graphics card when happened. or maybe rare glitch. keep using workspace switcher need 2 copies of blender, bunch of browser tabs, , few images open right now.)

(i had shut down out of this. if i'd had unsaved, have been real pain.)

Windows XP installation, no previous version of Windows NT - Super User

i tried reinstall windows xp on lenovo s10e netbook, got error: no previous version of windows nt can found on computer. setup cannot verify qualify install upgrade product. quit setup, press f3 this notebook has no optical drive, installing xp via usb pendrive. old post. answering anyways in hope nobody ever need information since xp long since dead. xp , addional drivers: in order access harddrive need drives mass storage , drivers hdd controller. first build xp. second might be. if driver on xp installation cd not need anything. if driver not on standard cd have @ least 2 choices: create custom cd addition drives (slipstream), or load driver during setup. instructed installation process 'press f6 load additional drives'. @ stage press f6 , insert floppy relevant driver. xp , ahci in past used many storage devices. sorts of scsi, esda, ata etc etc. of these need drivers. time xp reached sp3 home systems had moved ata interface , there...

installing new kali linux 2016 rolling release hdd via usb. i made bootable usb using universal usb. booted off usb , selected "graphical install", had issue @ beginning install prompting cannot find data in cdrom, pulled usb , waited 30 seconds, plugged in waited 30 seconds plugged in , allowed me continue through install. i enabled lvm , went through whole process once done went next step "install system" @ point error debootstrap error failed determine codename release at point cannot go further in installation. went "debian installer menu" , executed shell. shell tried mount usb /cdrom using "mount -t vfat /dev/sdb1 /cdrom" found on debian forum. receive following error "mounting /dev/sdb1 on /cdrom failed: no such file or directory" try mkdir cdrom, states exists. sdb1 usb according "mount" i not sure @ point. advice great. thanks. i had same issue installing kali linux usb. tried install os graphic...
