Error while installing livepatch - Ask Ubuntu


whenever check status message

$ canonical-livepatch status --verbose error:cannot locate core snap. errmsg: no such file or directory

not sure if case canonical-livepatch instalable on 16.04 lts.

the website says:

the service covers standard canonical 64-bit x86 kernels on 16.04 lts. dynamically monitors success rates, enabling reduce risk of live kernel fixes delivering them small initial group , widening footprint dynamically based on success.

installed ubuntu mate 16.04 lts on decade-old desktop. lspci -k shows: 01:00.0 vga compatible controller: nvidia corporation nv18 [geforce4 mx 4000] (rev c1) subsystem: xfx pine group inc. nv18 [geforce4 mx 4000] kernel driver in use: nouveau kernel modules: nvidiafb, nouveau i wonder nvidia-* driver package need install. thought should nvidia-96 , far checked, there no nvidia-96 package available.
