dual boot - How long can ubuntu work on a usb drive? - Ask Ubuntu


i have 128gb usb drive lying around , planning on installing ubuntu on it. started having concerns how long usb last. read average usb flash drive can have 1 million read/write operations before becoming corrupted. so, how long take reach number? having experiences lifespan of usb drives ubuntu on them?

depends on usb drive. cheap usbs such consumer lexar drives may die quickly, , slow.

however, there some, such sandisk cruzer extreme ssds, , have higher tolerances cheaper drives.

i recommend when permanently installing ubuntu on usb drive use light distribution such lubuntu , disable journaling. reduce write cycles drive- however, disabling journalling puts @ far higher risk of disk corruption. make sure make backups!

windows - "-2146893807 NTE_NOT_FOUND" when repair certificate store - Super User

i try repair certificate store in windows 10 doing c:\windows\system32>certutil -store -user ‎330000019dba8d5dddb98062a900000000019d "personal" certutil: -store command failed: 0x80090011 (-2146893807 nte_not_found) certutil: object not found. i have double check mmc, certificate details serial number of certificate. still fail repair certificate store. can please help? i getting same error when trying export pfx. turns out had export c:\cert.pfx instead of cert.pfx (it trying export file cert store ( cert:\localmachine\my ).
