boot - How to move ubuntu to main hardrive off usb - Ask Ubuntu


so pc's hard drive got fried got , needed os make ubuntu bootable , put on usb. runs except. runs off usb , whenever restart resets. not mention if unplug usb messes up. how fix use ubuntu usb , download ubuntu install on pc while using flash drive ubuntu. or somehow transfer onto hard drive. should do? brand new hard drive , theres no windows on it.

i'm going assume version of ubuntu you're running usb version of ubuntu want installed on hard drive. if i'm reading question correctly, sounds want install ubuntu hard drive.

if you're booted ubuntu usb, can without having download ubuntu again. @ top of panel on left, icon ubuntu logo on it. under should launcher ubuntu installation application. if don't see it, click ubuntu logo , in search field pops up, type "install". first search result should ubuntu installer. click installer , follow prompts install ubuntu hard drive.

if not need copy documents created in live os new installation, can stop here, wait installation complete, , reboot. if did create documents in live os want copy new installation, keep reading.

regarding celticwarrior's comment, if have created documents, these in /home/ubuntu directory. once ubuntu has started installing (right after submitting desired username/password), open terminal window pressing ctrl+alt+t. type cd /target, , press enter before installation finishes. leave window open. should prevent system unmounting hard drive partition after installation.

when installation finishes, click "continue testing" button. if wish copy user directory in live os user directory in newly installed os, can running following commands (pressing enter after each line) in terminal window left open...

user=$(ls /target/home) sudo cp -r /home/ubuntu/* /target/home/$user/ sudo rm /target/home/$user/desktop/ubiquity.desktop sudo chown -r 1000:1000 /target/home/$user

finally, reboot computer , boot hard drive, not usb. have reinstall programs installed while using live os, should pull documents created new installation.

i try repair certificate store in windows 10 doing c:\windows\system32>certutil -store -user ‎330000019dba8d5dddb98062a900000000019d "personal" certutil: -store command failed: 0x80090011 (-2146893807 nte_not_found) certutil: object not found. i have double check mmc, certificate details serial number of certificate. still fail repair certificate store. can please help? i getting same error when trying export pfx. turns out had export c:\cert.pfx instead of cert.pfx (it trying export file cert store ( cert:\localmachine\my ).
