chromebook - Permission denied running executable even after chmod u+x - Ask Ubuntu


i aware similar questions have been asked before none of these have solved issue have:

i have built basic unity3d program linux when trying run resulting executable 'open with...' there no recommended applications if double click file in gui or 'permission denied' if running through terminal.

i have ensured 'allow file run executable' checked , tried chmod u+x before running terminal.

the file extension x86_64. understanding 64 bit binary , system 64 bit (i checked using uname -a).

if it's system running ubuntu 12.04 lts (xfce) on acer chromebook 14, installed using crouton.

i new things linux please if have missed out important information , please explain answers in such way newbie can understand.

where executable file located at? if on mounted partition, there chance noexec flag set. check see if workspace under mounted drives.

$ mount | grep noexec
